The history of LEITERMANN GmbH & Co. Fachmarkt KG dates back to 1869. At that time Gottlob Plötner, born in Weißenborn, settled down as a ladder maker in Göpfersdorf. The family business was passed on from generation to generation and has developed from a craft business to a trading company. Today, LEITERMANN is still family-run, operates DIY stores and garden centers at seven locations in eastern Thuringia and western Saxony and currently employs 350 people.
